Overview
This annual charge is levied on properties to help fund Victoria's fire and emergency services. Every property owner must pay the levy, either through their council rates or through a separate notice.
The levy is different for residential and non-residential properties. It comprises a fixed charge and a variable rate. The variable rate is based on the property's classification and capital improved value.
