You will require this certificate if you need to find out how an area of land has been zoned or if there are any special conditions applicable to it under your local council's planning scheme.

You may require this planning certificate if you are partaking in the sale of land in which you must provide certain details or when proposing development of land.

Eligibility

To obtain this certificate you must make a written application on the approved form to the Council clearly stating the following details:

  • name and address of applicant
  • address of land, title particulars, plan showing land or any combination of these
  • the use, development or other matter for which permit is required
  • the existing use of the land
  • the estimated cost of the development
  • who owns the land
  • the prescribed fee.
